In order to be employed by the Customs Broker, as his representative, before Customs Authorities, one need to qualify a written exam which is called “G Card” or Regulation 13(5) Exam. Eligibility Criteria for this exam is 10+2, with having some experience as an H Card holder of any Customs Broker.
This exam is conducted at Commissionerate Level (Local Level), and proper officer to conduct this exam is Assistant Commissioner of Customs or Deputy Commissioner of Customs of that particular Commissionerate.
Since this is conducted locally many Commissionerate include Oral Exam or Interview in this exam also like in Mumbai you need to pass two exams to become G card Holder, first one is written exam and second one is interview, whereas in Delhi you need to qualify in written exam only.
In a new trend G Card exam is also being held in MCQ format and there are 100 Objective Type Questions to be attempted in 3 Hours time and in order to qualify you need to secure 60%.
